I wanted to be able to do fancier effects and transitions as my skill in editing grew. I chose PowerDirector first and foremost, because it was robust enough to meet my needs. But I just wanted something quick and easy and I didn't want to invest a lot, and that's why I eventually went with PowerDirector. I've considered getting some serious software, like Premiere, but.
